Call for Submissions – Spring 2026 Issue

The Journal of Christian Ministry (JCM) invites contributors for the Spring 2026 issue around theme of

“Strategies for Faithful Cultural Engagement in Ministry”

We welcome submissions from faculty, staff, and doctoral students at ATS institutions–and contributors do not need to be ADME members.

Submissions may include:

  • Scholarly articles reflecting on topics relevant to the overall theme
  • Book reviews on selected recently published books related to the overall theme
  • Annotated bibliography of recommended resources for ministry educators
  • Exploration of current innovative trends in DMin education, (for example: use of AI, changes in DMin programs since 2020 standard revisions etc…)
  • Summaries of current DMin research (does not need to be theme-specific)

General Guidelines

Length: Articles should be between 1,200 and 2,500 words (book reviews and summaries may be shorter).

Formatting/Style: Follow the latest edition of A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L. Turabian. Use footnotes rather than endnotes. The written text should be single-spaced, in 12-point New Times Roman font.

File type: Submit the work as an MS Word document.

Abstract: Include a brief abstract (100 words or fewer) summarizing the article.

Author information: The author’s name, title, institutional affiliation, mailing address, and e-mail address should appear on a separate cover page.

Submission and Review Process

Proposal Deadline: November 10, 2025

Final Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

Email submissions and inquiries to the Editor, Scott Barfoot (sbarfoot@dts.edu). All scholarly articles will be peer-reviewed by qualified referees prior to acceptance. Accepted submissions may be edited for clarity, usage, and style prior to publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please confirm that your submission meets the following requirements:

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor under consideration elsewhere (or an explanation has been provided to the editor).
  • The file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined under the General Guidelines
  • The document includes a separate cover page with author information
