Call for Submissions — Spring 2027 Issue

The Journal of Christian Ministry (JCM) invites contributors for the Spring 2027 issue centered on the theme:

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Formational DMin Education”

We welcome submissions from faculty, staff, and doctoral students at ATS institutions—contributors do not need to be ADME members.

Submissions may include:

  • Scholarly articles reflecting on topics relevant to the overall theme
  • Book reviews on selected recently published books related to the overall theme
  • Annotated bibliographies of recommended resources for ministry educators
  • Explorations of current innovative trends in DMin education (e.g., integration of AI, impacts of the 2020 & 2026 degree standard revisions, etc.)
  • Summaries of current DMin research (does not need to be theme-specific)

Submission & Review Process

November 10, 2026
Final Submission Deadline
January 31, 2027

Email all submissions and inquiries to the Editor, Scott Barfoot (sbarfoot@dts.edu). All scholarly articles undergo peer review by qualified referees prior to acceptance. Accepted submissions may be edited for clarity, usage, and style prior to publication.

General Guidelines

  • Length: Articles should be between 1,200 and 3,500 words (book reviews and summaries may be shorter).
  • Formatting/Style: Follow the latest edition of A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L. Turabian. Use footnotes rather than endnotes. Text should be single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font.
  • File Type: Submit your work as an MS Word document (.docx).
  • Abstract: Include a brief abstract (100 words or fewer) summarizing the article.
  • Author Information: Include the author’s name, title, institutional affiliation, mailing address, and email address on a separate cover page.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Please confirm that your submission meets all of the following requirements prior to sending:

  • The submission has not been previously published nor is currently under consideration elsewhere (or an explanation has been provided to the editor).
  • The file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • Where available, direct URLs for references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced, uses 12-point font, employs italics rather than underlining (except for URL addresses), and embeds all illustrations, figures, and tables within the text at appropriate points rather than at the end.
  • The text strictly adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined under the General Guidelines.
  • The document includes a separate cover page with complete author contact details.
